Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the color picker work?
- Upload an image and hover over it to see a magnified preview of the area under your cursor. Click anywhere on the image to pick that pixel's color. The color is displayed in HEX, RGB, and HSL formats.
- What color formats are supported?
- The tool displays colors in three formats: HEX (e.g. #ff6600), RGB (e.g. rgb(255, 102, 0)), and HSL (e.g. hsl(24, 100%, 50%)). Each format has a copy button for easy clipboard access.
- What is the color history?
- Every color you pick is saved in the color history (up to 10 colors). Click any color in the history to view its details again. This makes it easy to compare and collect multiple colors from an image.
- Can I use this on mobile?
- Yes, but the loupe (magnifier) works best with a mouse or trackpad. On touch devices, you can tap the image to pick colors directly.
- Do you store or upload my images?
- No. Your images never leave your device. All color picking happens entirely in your web browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. We have zero access to your photos.
